Chemical Intermediates

    Limonene Dioxide is liquid active cycloaliphatic diepoxide with low odor applications including metal coatings, varnishes and printing inks, specifically those using UV/EB cationic curing. Dipentene LPX is a naturally occurring blend of terpene hydrocarbons composed primarily of limonene and beta-phellandrene. A clear liquid substance, it is used as a chemical intermediate in the manufacture of polyterpene resins and as an industrial solvent.


Industrial Cleaners

    Dipentene AZ is utilized in industrial cleaners and is a complex combination of terpenes derived from oil of turpentine, containing at least 50% limonene with the remainder being phellandrenes, terpinenes, terpinolene and cineoles.

     


Industrial Solvents

    Dipentene AZ is a complex combination of terpenes derived from oil of turpentine, containing at least 50% limonene with the remainder being phellandrenes, terpinenes, terpinolene and cineoles.

    Dipentene GICA is a mixture of terpene hydrocarbons for use as a low cost solvent. Its composition and physical properties are subject to change from batch to batch. It possesses excellent solvency properties for degreasing and wax removal applications.

Initiators

  •  

    Glidox initiators are derived from the naturally occurring turpentine of pine trees, which is a by-product of the paper making industry.

    Glidox 300 is a versatile high-performance polymerization initiator. A proprietary formulation of para-menthane and other terpene hydroperoxides, it can be used as an initiator in the manufacture of such polymers as vinyl, nitrile and styrene-butadiene rubber.

    Glidox 500 contains PHP at an active hydroperoxide content of 50 to 55% by weight. It is an effective polymerization catalyst that can be used as an initiator in the manufacture of various polymers in emulsion Systems, including acrylonitrile-butadiene and styrene- butadiene copolymers and vinyl, nitrile and polyester resins.

    Glidox initiators can be readily substituted for other peroxides in the emulsion polymerization process without extensive process modification or detriment to the polymer product. Often Glidox initiators may be used at lower dosage levels as compared to other initiators which will result in cost savings. An additional and key advantage of Glidox is the extended half-life at 130°C (25 hours for Glidox versus 12 hours for the 55% PMHP). This improvement in the half life is an indicator of relative storage stability at temperatures above the typical ambient (25°C).


Ore Flotation

    Terpene SW is a mixture of terpene hydrocarbons and terpene alcohols used as ore flotation agent, specifically in the extraction of copper. Flotation agents are used a separation technique in which finely divided solid materials are separated from a mixture of Terpene SW with two or more materials suspended in water to create a froth. The froth attaches and stabilizes air bubbles that transport the valuable minerals to the surface of the froth such that the minerals are 'floated out' of the mixture.
